So Good In Carlsbad!

We'll be attending the annual XXV meeting in Carlsbad, CA March 30th through April 5th. The prestigious XXV is a group of 25 Master Photographers from all over the world that we are tremendously proud to be members of.

Each year the meeting location changes from points all around the globe, but one thing always stays the same...the learning, sharing and the growing of friendships and craftsmanship. The images posted above are some that we photographed at last years meeting in Lexington, KY. Our model, Danielle, is Stephen Lagow's daughter who was a real trooper working in the cold and the dark. We photographed this session in downtown Lexington starting at about 11pm and finished at nearly 2am! It was sooo much fun photographing with the Lagows (from Missouri) and the Van Kootens (from the Netherlands).

This year XXV has teamed up with the Make-A-Wish Chapter in San Diego to photograph the children and families of Make-A-Wish. We are very humbled by this honor and will post some of the great photos when we return.

XXV will soon be launching their web site, but until then enjoy just a sampling of the great photography from just a few of XXV's great members.

Just in time for Spring!

For all of our 2008 bridal couples, enjoy $100 off a Sign-in-Album if you book your engagement session in May. The Sign-in-Album is a great alternative to the 'been there done that" sign-in-book.

We like to incorporate something fun and personal into each engagement session that we do like your favorite hobbies, the place you had your first date or your favorite way to spend an afternoon. Look under Bliss on our web site for session ideas. Engagement sessions are also the perfect way to do a 'photography test drive' before the wedding day, which will make you feel much more relaxed on the wedding day. Call the studio to make your appointment or if you have questions. We are happy to help!

Bahama Mama!

We are very excited to announce that we were just booked to speak at the Bahama's International School of Professional Photography in Nassau, Bahamas at the Breezes Resort February 22-25 2009. We will be teaching a four day course covering marketing, work flow, graphic design elements and posing/lighting. One full day will be a Photo Safari...way cool!

Visit the web site for more information and to sign up for the class...the 2009 schedule hasn't officially posted yet but you can still see lots of info on the resort and get registered for the course. Rick English, Co-Director of the school, thinks this will be one of their biggest schools yet, so lets not disappoint!

For any of our clients who may be in the neighborhood, we would be happy to schedule beach photographs or fit in a destination wedding in the sun and surf! Certainly a great way to beat the winter blahs...I can almost taste the rum punch now!

Way Cute Kid Outfits

A friend of mine told me to check out this web site for super cute and funky outfits for portraits. The tutus from Kaiyaeve and Tutu Couture are perfectly fun outfits for portraits or hip flower girls. Check them out at pettiskirtplace! I can't wait for Charlie to be old enought to wear one!

Question?

While I was in Wisconsin for a program we gave, I went to see an acupuncturist at the urging of some friends who swear by it. Well, it did work to relieve some lower back pain I was having and I would like to try and find one in the Dayton area. Any suggestions or referrals for an acupuncturist?

Thanks, Jennifer

On the Road Again!

Just to let everyone know we will be speaking and judging in Wisconsin for the Professional Photographers of Wisconsin March 6th-10th. We then leave straight from Wisconsin to speak in Raleigh for the Professional Photographers of North Carolina and we'll be back in the office March 17th. We're keeping our fingers crossed that we don't get snowed in Wisconsin!

What a Convention!

Wow! The 2008 Professional Photographers of Ohio convention and print competiton was awesome...probably the best in years.

Big news too...much bigger than we could have ever hoped...Mark and I entered four wedding albums this year and merited all four! We won two Fuji Masterpiece awards, two Kodak Gallery awards and Canon's Par Excellence award...which also included a new Canon 5D Camera!

We won best Wedding Album in Ohio and also Top Wedding Album in the 6 state Region. We both won Ohio Photographer of the year and also Mid-East States Photographer of the year(this is the first time two people have ever won these awards.) Mark is the only photographer to have won Ohio Photographer of the Year six times and the Mid-East States Photographer of the year five times.

Very shortly we will have the winning albums posted in the Gallery section of our web site. A special thank you to the Neal/Hoffman families, Riggsby/Munson families, Wolientz/Feldman families and Berg/Herewitz familes for sharing such a momentous occasion with us. We love what we do because of all the great people that we work with!
