Amy & Rob!

Amy and Rob's wedding started the gauntlet for five weddings in within the next nine days...pheww! However, what a great way to start! A few years ago we did Amy's sister's wedding and have since photographed Sara's two adorable children. We absolutely love it when we feel like we are a part of the family!

We had an amazing day (including the great weather) starting with photographs at the Engineer's Club and wrapping up at Carillon Park. Amy had a beautiful champagne colored dress with a vintage feel, which looked beautiful with the dress blues. We applied some vintage photo textures to enhance the mood of some of the photos. The image of them on the train is one of my favorites.

Their reception was at the Transportation Center at Carillon Park, which was a first for us. I thought I new every square inch of event facilities in this town, but we had somehow missed this cool one. The floor to ceiling windows, vaulted ceilings, and trains made for a beautiful unique backdrop.

Thanks again for sharing such a special day with us (not to mention all the other special moments your family has shared too)! Congrats and we wish you all the best...wherever your travels take you.

Sara & Tony!

What a great couple we had on Saturday! The weather was super hot, but everyone managed to still have lots of fun. Sara and Tony got married in the quaint downtown area of Wilmington, which photographed beautifully. The wedding party of 24 certainly caused some heads to turn as we were hiking the streets of Wilmington.

We also got to enjoy a wedding first for us...the bride and groom playing soccer. Both are avid fans and players of the game so it was only natural that we had to make it to the soccer fields. Sara requested this in her wedding pretalk so I had some time to envision a few shots. The one posted here is my favorite...thought of it in the shower by the way. Penalty shots in soccer just crack me up for some reason :)

We had a great time and wish the happy couple lots of r&r on Marco Island. As always, feel free to leave comments and well wishes for the bride and groom, by clicking on the 'Comments Rock' below!

Deb & Tom!

We held our breath on Saturday, hoping that the rain would hold off...and boy were we lucky! The clouds parted just moments before the ceremony. We teased them that we've never been rained out of a wedding...and boy am I glad we delivered.

We had an awesome time with Deb & Tom and their wonderful friends and family. They are truly a cute couple together. Right now they are enjoying Maui (one of our favorite places on earth!), and we wish them all the best!

Your Signature, Please!

We've been busy getting lots of Sign-in-Albums and frames ready for our Spring brides! We always design the album according to the event's theme and colors and often match the design to save-the-date cards and/or invitations for a cohesive look.

Sign-in-Albums make for a great keepsake and also helps to personalize your event. Guests love it and always end up looking through the entire album. Small personal touches always help make events unique and memorable!

Extreme Portrait Makeover Contest & Fundraiser!

We are thrilled to announce our "Extreme Portrait Makeover Contest!" The idea for this exciting contest came to us after a home not too far from ours burnt to the ground. Our thoughts and prayers were with the family who suffered such a tremendous loss, but it also got us thinking. There are many families with missing or incomplete photographic histories. Your story may not be as extreme as that last story, but we would still like to help!

From now until June 30th, you can enter or nominate others for our "Extreme Portrait Makeover Contest." There are TWO Categories of entry each with their own Grand Prize and Runner Up Prizes. Complete details and entry forms can be printed in the upper right hand corner of this blog.

The FIRST CATEGORY OF ENTRY is for 'existing' Mark Garber clients...even if it has been awhile since you've been into the studio :) We want to know what your Mark Garber portraits mean to you!

The SECOND CATEGORY OF ENTRY is 'open to the public.' Tell us why you or the person you nominate is in need of a portrait makeover. Maybe there was a natural disaster, medical reasons, military leave or any other reason why your family/children don't have portraits to display in your home.

HOW TO ENTER: Download and print the Entry Form located in the upper right hand corner of this blog. Be sure to fill out the correct entry form: 'Existing Mark Garber Client' or 'Open to the Public.' Have your entry form and $5 Donation to "A Special Wish Foundation" submitted to the studio by 5:00pm on June 30, 2009.

A SPECIAL WISH FOUNDATION: 100% of all donations go directly to A Special Wish Foundation. A Special Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses and is located at the Dayton Children's Medical Center. A truly heartwarming cause!

PRIZES!!! Each of the two Categories of Entry will have a Grand Prize and a Runner-up Prize. Here's what you can win!

Grand Prize: An Entire Room Portrait Makeover worth $2,500, plus hair and makeup for your portrait by Alec's Day Spa and Salon!

Runner Up Prize: $500 of Portraiture

Everyone Wins: All who enter will receive a Free Portrait Session valued at $100, plus get $25 in salon services from Alec's Day Spa & Salon. That's $125 in services for your $5 donation!

We have a panel of guest judges gathered from around the country who will be selecting the winning entries. Winners will be announced on July 10th! Good Luck!

**A note to our brides** This fundraiser does not apply towards wedding day coverage or wedding photographs. However, feel free to nominate someone else in need of a Portrait Makeover.
