Katie & Jason!

We got to spend Saturday at one of our favorite Dayton venues, the Dayton Art Institute, as well as be with Katie and Jason and their great friends and family. Everyone couldn't have been sweeter and the closeness of friends and family was touching. Jason's dad even sang them a beautiful song for their toast that didn't leave any dry eyes in the house.
Katie and Jason had dated for many years and the long wait for the wedding day paid off with an awesome day! We had a great time and hope that the Caribbean cruise wasn't ruined with the hurricane threats!

Lindsey & Paul

Fun! Fun! Fun! The only way to describe the great time we had with everyone on Lindsey and Paul's wedding day! They could not be any cuter or sweeter as a couple. You can tell how cute they are together by their first dance song. Its kind of like in the movie "The Wedding Planner," when Jennifer Lopez's character can tell how long a couple stays together by the song they pick for the first dance. I haven't seen proof of that, but I do think you can tell a lot about a couple by the song they pick. I did their slide show to their first dance song. Can you tell what movie it is from?

We also ended up having a surprise reunion of past bridal couples too! Lindsay and Alan, who are just newly weds themselves, were in the wedding party. Katie and Mike, whose wedding was in May 2006, were guests. Then when we were photographing at the Greene, we ran into Deshona and Alex, another one of our past bridal couples! How cool was that!? It really does touch our hearts that we have such amazing bridal couples and it was so much fun catching up with everyone. One of the best parts of this job is the great relationships you form!
Lindsay and Alan making good use of the dance floor!

Katie and Mike! Mike's company is launching a new product with the PPA so we will get to see Mike in Phoenix at the January Convention.

Megan and Scott

We couldn't have asked for a better day last Friday...great weather, awesome people and beautiful locations! We had so much fun with everyone and thoroughly enjoyed watching the love between Megan and Scott. Their hug at the end of the ceremony couldn't be more real...we live for those moments!

Megan's color scheme was perfect for an August wedding. We named their cake 'the happy cake' because there is no way you can be bright yellow and not be happy and cheerful. A special thank you to Stephanie at Entertainment Unlimited for making the day run so smooth. Trent Area never looked better!

Planning Reminder!

If you or a friend are planning a 2009 wedding, we are over half-way to our booking capacity. Prime dates in 2010 are starting to book as well.

Remember the first rule of wedding planning, book the services that can only do one event per day first. That includes your venues, photographer, videographer and entertainment. Concentrate on booking on those vendors in your first wave of planning to make sure you get your first choice of vendors. Other vendors like florist, cake, tuxes, and limos can do mulitple weddings per day and don't reach their capacity as quickly.

Happy Planning!

Love with Abandon!

I think anyone in the wedding industry would readily tell you how happy and eager they are to see a bride do something fun and unique. Ron Padgett with Ron's Beehive is an event designer and florist who always has amazing ideas and says that every bride that enters his studio says, "I want something different." Yet after lots of planning sessions, they settle on the traditional. He calls it "three hours to beige." I keep telling him that would be an awesome book title.

Anyway, I digress...

Here enters Jennifer and Scott. A fun and easy going couple that made their wedding 100% theirs. We got some awesome images with Jennifer's "Who cares about a dress that I'll never wear again," attitude that allowed us to have some fun. So many little touches made their day unique right down to Jennifer's black french tip manicure and the Twinkie Bride and Groom cake toppers.

Can you find the photographer in this shot? It's kind of like a photography 'Where's Waldo?'

Our version of Grant Woods' "American Gothic"

We also had fun doing a 'photo booth' with some of their outgoing guests and we included a few of our favorites.

Daddy's Girl!

Hard to believe Charlie is almost 9 months old! She has two new teeth and loves to crawl and stand whenever she can. She has a whole closet of clothes that she is outgrowing quicker than we can get her into them so we thought if nothing else we could do pictures in them. Here she is showing off her Baby Lulu, which mommy just loves.

She is the world to us!

Greene with Envy!

Molly and Greg are one of our 2010 wedding couples, but we did their engagement session early since Greg is being deployed to Iraq the end of August. (Please keep him in your prayers along with all the other everyday heroes in the armed forces. Please feel free to leave some words of encouragement and support for Greg in Comments.)

They both have such great fun personalities that we wanted to show that off a little. We did their session at The Greene and had a blast doing it. I don't think we left an inch of it unexplored... including the window outside Victoria Secrets.

A special thank you to Stephanie Clemens at McCormick & Schmicks for opening the patio for us. You can book McCormick & Schmicks for your rehearsal dinner, showers or other small functions. They have a great private room that can accommodate up to 50 people, great service....and lets not forget the food!
