On the Road Again!

So here it is...the ugly February Convention Schedule! Don't think we are whooping it up while we're on the road speaking and teaching. We usually don't get to see anything other than the inside of our hotel and whatever convention center we are in. Even at Bahamas School we'll have no beach time :( Not to mention it is so hard being away from little Charlie.

We will be checking voice mail and e-mail as we can. We will also try to make periodic posts from our travels. Thank you for being understanding.

PS. We were just at the Mid-East Region Convention hosted in Kentucky last weekend and won the Kodak Gallery Award (Stofer Wedding) and the Fuji Masterpiece Award (Weaver Wedding) for the Top Wedding Albums in the Region. I'll have more on that shortly. Congrats to those families!

PPS. The Weaver wedding has a great story behind it. When you read Nikki & Ben's original post, you'll learn that Mark did Nikki's mom's wedding nearly 23 years ago. That makes Nikki our first second generation bride! Pretty cool that Mark is still doing great work...somethings do indeed get better with age :)

Adding a Little Whimsy

Want to add a little spice to your wedding? I love subtle touches of humor and whimsy, and what better way to add some than with some crazy socks with those been-there-done-that tuxedos. No one sees them unless they want them too...so why not? Pick a pair with your wedding colors and have some fun!

Check two items off the wedding 'to do' list by making them part of your gifts to the wedding party!

Little Miss Matched has a great selection and lots of other fun things too!

Meet the Dunkles!

Saturday we got to celebrate with Nicole, Andy and their cool son Nick! Nicole and Andy got married last November in Mexico and had their reception here.

We didn't get to go to Mexico :( but we did have fun here with them in Ohio. They make a sweet family and we wish them all the best!

Taylour & Kyle's Show

What a couple wonderful couple! I still can't believe how blessed we were to have been photographing outside while it was 70 degrees that day! Talk about lucky!

I thought January was supposed to be a slow month!? We need to start getting competition albums ready for entry this month and I think Taylour and Kyle's wedding will be one of our contenders...now if I could just find an extra week this month to get that done!

Enjoy the show!

PS. I love this song and haven't heard it used for a first dance before :)

Happy 5th Anniversary!

Hard to believe, but it is our five year wedding anniversary already. It seems like it was just yesterday. We decided to get married in Naples, Florida with some very close friends and immediate family and then had a reception at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus for other people we love!

I wish we could do it all over again, and Mark and I do plan to take Charlie with us to the spot on the beach where we said our vows. Weddings are magical and as a photographer, I'm glad I've gotten to experience one in front of the camera. I know that perspective has made acutely aware of what is important and memorable for brides. I also understand how challenging it can be to plan a wedding from out of state, and work closely with those brides to offer extra support and guidance.
I posted some of my favorite spreads from our album for you to enjoy!
PS. To my Markie, you truly are my better half and I can't imagine my world without you. I have won the 'soul mate' lottery for sure!
PPS. If love were people, I'd be China. (what obscure movie is that from?)

We are very excited to be the winner of Zookbinders album contest for 2008. We had the "Overall Winning Design" for Hailee and Ryan's wedding that we did last December during a snow storm.
We exclusively use Zookbinder albums for their superior craftsmanship and product quality. You can see lots more of our work on Zookbinders web site or in their product catalog, like the images from Margo & Jeffrey's wedding used on the front page of their catalog.

New Year New Outlook!

Just a few thoughts to perhaps start the new year with a new perspective. I love this ad from Louis Vuitton for it's thought provoking message. I think life gets too complicated and especially too busy. My promise to myself this year is to simplify my life and savor all those little things that somehow pass you by without you even knowing you missed them.

Mark loves movies and one of his favorites is "Field of Dreams." There is a line in the movie that says, "You fail to recognize the most significant moments in your life as they are happening." With that in mind I hope we all can slow down just a little and savor all the beautiful people and moments in our lives whether they be big or small, and to realize that they are all apart of our own unique journeys.

Happy New Year!
