October's Inspire Me! Board

Each month we are featuring a wedding that stands out with lots of creative colors, details and ideas. Hopefully you'll find some design inspiration of your own!

Since October is usually associated with a fall color scheme we thought we would show you Sara & Chris' twist to a fall color palette. Instead of going with the usual orange, red, yellow and brown fall palette, they went for a more 'organic' look with white pumpkins, chocolate cosmos flowers, moss and greenery that had more of a gray tone to it by using plants like lamb's ear. They added a hint of gold for just the right amount of shimmer.

You can see more images from Sara and Chris' event as well as view their vendor list, by clicking on their full wedding post. Enjoy!

Next month we will feature Holly & Rockford's classic and elegant ivory and gold color scheme. Having such a classic color palette suits wedding year round, but can be especially elegant for winter weddings.

Joshua & Kristen's E-Session

This past weekend we photographed Joshua and Kristen's engagement session all around downtown Dayton. For those of you who don't know, Joshua is Mark's son. We've been having a lot of fun helping them plan their wedding parties.
Joshua and Kristen are doing a destination wedding in Florida next year, but are having a 'Send Off' Reception in Dayton first. In the top photo, we are going to be using the chalkboard photos for their Ohio party invitation's, favors and an interactive guestbook. We'll show you the finished work to you soon!
It's a lot of work to plan two separate parties, each with different themes and styles, but it will be a lot of fun too! We'll keep everyone posted with wedding updates as we go through the planning process.

Leslie & Dustin's Piqua Wedding

Leslie and Dustin had a charming country wedding held in the quaint town of Piqua. The ceremony was held at Leslie's grandmother's farm, which holds a special place in Leslie's heart. I love the top photo of Leslie in the barn. All her bridesmaids were worried about her dress getting dirty, but Leslie said, "Forget about it! This is a country wedding." When I asked her to go into the barn she said, "I was hoping we could do that." Gotta love a bride that lives in the moment and trusts our vision!

Their ceremony was beautiful and was given by Dustin's friend who got ordained online for the occasion. Instead of lighting a unity candle, a tree was planted instead. Leslie's stepmother also performed beautiful folk music on a guitar. The ceremony was definitely a memorable experience for all involved. After the ceremony we had fun photographing at the old Piqua Mill before heading on to the reception.

Feel free to leave well wishes for the newlyweds in the Comments section below. You can also find more of Leslie and Dustin's images on the studio's Facebook page.

Cissy & Brandon at Country Club of the North

Last Friday we had a wonderful time photographing Cissy & Brandon's wedding. We were at one of our favorite venues with amazing fall weather and great people! We made good use of the beautiful fall colors by photographing all over CCN's beautiful grounds.

I loved Cissy's color scheme of rich fall colors using a lot of nontraditional floral elements and fruits. Far Hills Florist did all the arrangements, and you can view the last fall themed wedding they did with us just a few weeks ago. I think Cissy & Brandon's cake was one of the prettiest I have seen in awhile...loved the kiwi's and pears with it.

Cissy & Brandon had a lovely wedding surrounded by their closest family and friends. Feel free to leave messages for the newlyweds below in the Comments Section. You can also see more images on Facebook. Congrats & enjoy Mexico!

Melissa & Ed's Dayton, Ohio Wedding

Last Saturday was certainly not ideal weather for wedding photography. The cold wet weather kept us inside, but we did luck out to be inside Normandy Church, which is one of Dayton's prettiest churches to photograph.

The wet weather almost sort of added to the ambiance of being at a church that looks a little like a castle. Throw in the bag piper they had playing music outside to greet guests and it almost felt like you were in Scotland.

Melissa and Ed had a beautiful day surrounded by family and friends, and everyone had a great time despite the weather! Melissa & Ed are honeymooning in the Caribbean, where they will be getting their fill of sunshine! Feel free to leave messages for the newlyweds below in Comments!

You can check out some of Melissa's great vendors for yourself...
