Brianna & David at The Manor House

Brianna and David are such a sweet couple! Brianna's bubbly personality had us smiling all day...no wonder David fell for her! While the weather was little hot a muggy last Saturday, it dampen the spirit of the day. We had a great time with everyone, including Bri's dad who was so cute you just wanted to hug him!

Brianna's subtle color palette of green, purple and white looked beautiful with the natural color palette of their outdoor ceremony held on the beautiful grounds at The Manor House. Guests were then able to enjoy the summer weather with an outdoor cocktail hour before heading indoors for dinner and dancing. It was truly a lovely day for all. Brianna and David are very lucky to have such wonderful friends and family to celebrate with them. Enjoy the aqua waters of Aruba!

Feel free to leave messages for the couple below in comments. You can also look for them on Facebook. Be sure to tag yourself in photos too! You can also still view their engagement session taken earlier this spring.

Sara & Chris at RiverScape

I had a great time photographing Sara and Chris at RiverScape and surrounding areas in Dayton last week. Chris is a bit of a jokester so it was hard for Sara and I not to crack up will we were supposed to be photographing. We managed to get some great images in between the laughs. Their wedding is this fall at Benham's Grove and certainly will have us in stitches all day.

Let me explain...after asking Chris to behave himself during the session, we decide to indulge his silly side and do a goofy photo....sort of a "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em." The technique is called 'Flubbering.' Try it yourself...loosen all your facial muscles and then shake your head real fast. The result when you photograph it is hysterical...no two 'Flubbers' are ever the same. We just added Sara's fake punch and walla...world's most interesting engagement photo. Can you imagine what people would think if you put that on save-the-date cards?

Katie and JP at Dayton Art Institute!

Katie and JP are a super sweet couple and it was a joy to work with them. Katie and JP, however, probably would have preferred not to have hired us. Let me explain....

Katie and JP got married just a few weeks ago and another local photographer did the wedding. Katie and JP had their hearts broken when they got their images back and were disappointed with their wedding images.

Katie then called us and asked for help. We were happy to do whatever we could to help make Katie and JP's wedding memories the best they could be. We got them dressed back up and headed to the DAI. While we can't replicate an entire wedding, we helped them get back a little of what they had lost. Such a wonderful couple deserves to have great memories of their special day.

Unfortunately, this happens several times a year were we get phone calls from brides asking us to salvage their wedding photos. While we are happy to help as much as we can, it does make us sad to have to help these desperate couples. Be sure to learn from Katie and JP and make sure you have really researched your wedding vendors and make sure you are 100% happy with all the vendors you hire.

Congrats to Katie and JP and we wish them years and years of happiness!

PS. What are your options if you find yourself in a similar situation. First, if you have your camera files and copyright release, we can try and salvage images through artwork, cropping and proper finishing. Make sure your camera files are high res, aren't cropped or have special effects on them because that drastically limits what we can do with them. Your second option is to do what Katie and JP did by reshooting your bridal portraits. We can then merge the wedding day images with the new images we've done into an album for you. Call the studio for more details 937-748-8445.

Lauren & Mark at Cox Arboritum

Another great engagement session at the park! Mark and Lauren are a fun couple and we had a great evening together. I love Mark's expression when Lauren sneaks him a kiss in the second image...so cute! Their wedding is this fall at the super cute Willow Tree Inn in Troy. A great venue for a fall wedding. Should be beautiful and lots of fun!

Michelle & Josh at Cox Arboritum

Certainly a busy month for engagement sessions, and we were happy to fit Michelle and Josh's session in amongst all the rainy days we've had too. Such a sweet couple and we had a great time traipsing all throughout the park. I love the image with their feet reflected in the puddles...too cute! Definitely looking forward to their wedding at the Manor House this fall!

Margot & Patrick at Country Club of the North!

Where to start!? Margot and Patrick are such a sweet couple and we couldn't have had a better (or hotter) wedding day with them! We'd been looking forward to their wedding since we did their engagement session in Chicago earlier this spring.

I LOVED Margot's dress, which she accessorized it perfectly! The bolero and the sash/belt she had made after she bought her dress. I think she has potential as a fashion designer if med school doesn't pan out ;) I thought the bridesmaid's dresses in the kelly green were very fresh and fun for a summer wedding. And of course, Craig with Oberer's did a great job tying everything in with the beautiful and super fragrant flowers. Truly a beautiful event!

The day turned out to be a hot one with temperatures in the high 90's, but that didn't dampen any one's spirits. What a great group of friends and family to share their day! Thanks to everyone for braving the heat and for making Margot and Patrick's day so special. Feel free to leave messages for the newlyweds below in 'Comments Rock' or on Facebook. Enjoy the beaches of St. Martin!

Margot and Patrick had some amazing vendors from the Dayton/Cincinnati area. Check them out for yourselves!
Continental Moulding...is a family owned frame shop and they did all the frames for Margot and Patrick's engagement photos, which then served two purposes...table decor and wedding favors. Great idea for a personal touch!

Hotlanta!

We will be out of the office June 13th -16th, while we judge the Professional Photographers of America's (PPA) International Print Competition in Atlanta. Mark and Jennifer are both International Jurors and will be judging albums and prints for 8-10 hours a day all four days...that's a lot of prints!

Mark and Jennifer also have 4 entries (the max number of entries) in the album competition as well. All four entries should *hopefully* merit putting them in the PPA General Collection. However, the BIG goal is to have the entries go into the Loan Collection, which is considered to be the 'best of the best.' This is also how PPA determines it's National Photographers of the Year. Photographers with 4 out of 4 Loan prints/albums will then be published in the Professional Photographers Magazine and Loan Collection Book. We accomplished this three times...let's hope for a fourth!

Keep your fingers crossed that we have all four entries go Loan! We'll make periodic updates on Facebook as we learn results, and we'll post the winners on the blog as well.

Amy & Gary at the Schuster Center

Wow! What a eventful wedding weekend! With twenty-two in the wedding party, big families, and lots of friends who traveled from far and wide to celebrate, Amy and Gary were surrounded by the people they love!

Amy and Gary's wedding had lots of beautiful details throughout making for a very memorable event. I loved the big open garden roses in her bouquet, which were the inspiration for the day right down to their beautiful wedding logo and craft paper flowers that decorated the staircase at the Schuster.

Mark has worked with the Feldman family for years (even photographing Amy's bat mitzvah) so it was wonderful seeing the family and a lot of familiar faces. Thank you for sharing such a momentous occasion with us!

Amy & Gary are honeymooning in France and Switzerland later this summer (so jealous) and we wish them all the best! Feel free to leave messages for the newlyweds below or see more photos of Facebook. Be sure to become a Fan of the studio and tag yourself in photos. Enjoy!

Amy & Gary had a lot of terrific vendors who made their day a success!
