The Lovely Taylour & Kyle

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding to close out the 2008 wedding season! The weather was ridiculously warm with a high near 70...can you believe it!? And as if the weather wasn't gift enough, we got to photograph the beautiful and loving Taylour and Kyle.

They are such a sweet couple together and it showed all day long. They are definitely meant for each other! We also had a wonderful time with family and the wedding party...all 21 of them! The wedding party had us laughing all day and they were a joy to work with.

Merry Christmas!

This is the time of year when we really count our blessings, and we have a lot to be thankful for. We have an amazing family that keeps getting better as the years go on, especially the addition of our little Charlie. I also consider myself very blessed to be able to work with my husband. I can't even begin to imagine my life without him. We spend almost every minute together and it is still not enough. We are also both very grateful to be able to do what we love with so many wonderful clients...so many of you are like an extended family!

We wish you all a wonderful holiday and perhaps a little quiet time to reflect on all the things that are near to your heart too. Happy Holidays from the Garbers!

How about this awesome wedding dress! Ugh, what I wouldn't do to photograph this dress!

When we were in Italy, it was so amazing to see the different wedding attire...even for guys. I'm not kidding you, but there was a wicked couture crushed blue velvet tux that would have totally rocked!

You might not go completely out of the box, but consider adding something fun or unique to your wedding attire. It's your day so do whatever you wish!

Holiday Hours!

Well, we made it through! Working 16 hour days 6 days a week for 6 weeks, 4,125 Christmas Cards, 11,840 square inches of canvas prints, 1,082 album pages and what seems like miles and miles of photographic paper...we made it to Christmas!

Much like Santa, who gets exhausted from all his efforts, we are going to take a little time to ourselves to relax with family. The week between Christmas and New Year's we will be working by appointment only.

Style Me Pretty, a great wedding planning site, featured one of our ring shots from Lisa and Eddie's wedding. Funny to think that their rings are now being viewed by people all over the world...as if there wasn't enough pressure on a groom when he goes to buy a ring :)

Chelsie & E.J.

What a wonderful quaint winter wedding Chelsie and E.J. had! We got to hang out at CCN again and had a great time with everyone. I have to give some props to our brides this winter! All of them want outdoor photographs despite the cold. The good news was that CCN had all their fireplaces going so we could go in and warm up between shots.

We wish Chelsie and E.J. all the best and are very jealous that they have beautiful tropical ocean vistas in front of them right now while we are all looking at the snow and ice. We'll have their slide show posted soon...the holiday rush has slowed us down a bit, but we'll get it done soon ;)

Holly & Mike Part II

Holly couldn't resist doing an urban session and we were happy to oblige. They braved the cold last Saturday and I think it payed off. We had a great time photographing them again!

Needing some party planning inspiration? This great site has awesome themes, recipes, and more! There are some really cool ideas for bridal showers, which can always be a little hard to plan. I love this site and wish I knew about it a long time ago!

Lisa and Eddie

We had a lovely time this past Saturday with Lisa and Eddie. We got to spend the day with some great people and hangout at one of our favorite spots...Country Club of the North.

Lisa said that when she dreamed of her wedding day it had snow...and Saturday dreams came true. We had just the right amount of snow for a winter wedding and Lisa and Eddie even braved the snow for a few outdoor photographs. It almost looks like we were at some beautiful ski resort out west.

A special thank you to Pam at CCN for all her hard work. She always does an awesome job of taking care of everyone, which is partly why we love CCN so much. Did you know that they are just about the only venue in Dayton that allows you to have the facility all day long? Every other venue rushes you in and out with usually a max time of five hours :(

Lisa and Eddie are soaking up the sun in St. Thomas (one of my favorite places) and we know they are having a blast. We'll have your slide show posted soon! Congrats!

Wes and Abby's Cards

We posted Abby and Wes and their family/engagement session earlier this month and promised you that we would show you their cards. Abby and Wes did save-the-date cards that echoed their wedding colors of white, navy and lime green...can't wait to see the whole look! Abby's mom, Carole, went with classic holiday cards. Both were done on iridescent pearl paper with frosted vellum envelopes so you can see a sneak peak of the card right through the envelope. Both turned out great!

Megan & Walt!

We had a great time with Megan and Walt in Owensboro. A special thank you to Kim and Bill for letting us their beautiful home as a backdrop for photos. Your hospitality and family are both wonderful.

Megan is an event planner, and I have to say she planned a great one! Loved the subtle colors of black, white and platinum (a light shimmering taupe). The clear chivari chairs were awesome...hadn't seen those yet! The flowers were beautiful with subtle touches of southern charm with the cotton blossoms, orchids, spanish moss and magnolia leaves. All of it came together perfectly!

Maybe I can get Megan to share some thoughts with us know that she has been a bride and a planner! I think she would make an awesome guest blogger.

Abby & Wes

The Friday after Thanksgiving, Abby and Wes braved the chilly air for their engagement photos. They cuddled and laughed their way through their session for warmth! I love the splash of pink...especially the shoes! Not wanting to be left out...the family joined us for a portrait too!

Can't wait for the wedding, which will be a lot warmer :) We're doing holiday/save-the-date cards for them and will show you the design soon.
